Martin, William Abraham- After a short battle with cancer, at his home, with his family by his side, on Thursday, July 9,2020 in his 94th year. Bill Martin, Dearly beloved husband of Gwen. Loving father of Lynda Hall (Leigh) of Simcoe, Beverly Martin (Ralph), Alice Lampkin (Gary) Both of Ingersoll and Elizabeth of London. Lovingly Remembered by his 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Predeceased by 12 brothers and sister. Bill was a long-time employee of American Can. He was named Mr Softball in 1988 and made a member of the Simcoe and Area Sports Hall of Fame. He was also named to the Ontario Softball Sports Hall of Fame in 2016. He began his coaching career in 1954 until 1976, coaching a number of Simcoe's Ontario Championship teams. He left coaching to sit on the Executive of Ontario Amateur Softball Association and the Executive of Simcoe Minor Softball, for many years. He was awarded a certificate of Merit by the Canadian Government for his Contribution to Youth.
