Obituary for Ramsay McDonald

MCDONALD: Ramsay Frederick -With sadness we announce Ramsay’s peaceful passing at the Norfolk General Hospital on November 15, 2021 in his 89th year. Survived by his wife Millie and predeceased by his first wife Myrna McDonald (1986). He will be lovingly remembered by his children Matt (Heather) and Merle (Steve) and grandchildren Naomi, Grace and Rochelle, Millie’s children April, Sandra and John, and families. Ramsay is also survived by brothers Bill and Ron (Marie) McDonald. Born and raised in Hamilton, lived in Stoney Creek for 20 years and retired to Brantford and Simcoe. Ramsay graduated from Queens University in Civil Engineering. He worked at Stelco for over 30 years and was General Sales Manager. Ramsay volunteered for several organizations (CMHA, Cancer Society and Stoney Creek United Church). He was an avid lifelong golfer and had been a member of various golf courses in Hamilton, Burlington, Brantford, Dunnville and Simcoe areas. Playing golf was his passion and he was eager to teach anyone who wanted to learn. He continued to play well until the summer of this year. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Norfolk Golf and County Club, 200 Argyle Street, Simcoe on Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 1:30 – 4 pm. Sharing of Memories will happen at 1:30 pm. Due to COVID regulation, proof of double vaccination and proper identification as well as masks and social distancing will be required. In lieu of flowers, for those wishing to make a memorial donation in Ramsay’s memory they are asked to consider the Cancer Support and Resource Program (www.csrp.ca) or CMHA (www.ontario.cmha.ca).
