SHRUBB, Maurice Alfred- It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Dad, Papa and Big Papa on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the Norfolk General Hospital in his 92nd year. Loving husband to the late Kathleen (Murphy) of 57 wonderful years. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Jenny (Edwards). He will be deeply missed by his children Robert (Joanne), Ronald (Sherry), John (Dori Lynne) Diane (Bart), Shirley (Greg) and Susan (Don) as well as his late son James. Cherished “Papa” to 14 grandchildren and “Big Papa” to 19 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Edward and brother in law George. Remembered fondly by sister in law Patricia Byrne and Rose. Born in London, England, family was Maurice’s life; football (go Arsenal) came next! He never missed a family gathering or graduation ceremony and his “family wall of fame” was displayed proudly. As a young father, Maurice worked hard to provide for his family yet he always made time for camping adventures, fishing or sports with his kids. His warm, calm demeanour will be missed immensely and forever remembered by the countless beautiful memories created over a lifetime. As per Maurice’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
