Obituary for Lynda Clark (Brunton)

CLARK: Lynda Judith (Brunton) - It is in peace, sorrow and celebration that we announce the passing of Lynda on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Norfolk General Hospital in Simcoe. Lynda leaves behind her as a legacy of love, her husband Tom Mack, her son Sean Clark and his wife Julie as well as their children Jacen, Robyn and Max; and her daughter Amanda O’Gorman with her husband William, along with their children Taeg, Camryn and Chelsea. She will be greatly missed by her first husband Joe Clark and his wife Margaret Smythe, as well as Tom’s son James Mack, with wife Sarah and daughters Hannah and Zoe, and Tom’s daughter Laura Lien, with husband Will and son Kai. She carried with her a great love for her brother, Bill Brunton, his wife Lynda and their sons Wayne, Paul and Jason; her brother Frank Brunton, his wife Joy and their son Eric; and her sister Denise Robertson, her husband Gord and Denise’s children Stefany, Jarrett and Amara. Lynda’s 73 beautiful years were filled with the love of family, the companionship of her friends and a passion for teaching and learning. As an elementary school teacher, in Scarborough, then in Hamilton, Lynda touched the lives of hundreds of students. In her 35-year career, she taught nearly every grade, as well as spending several years as a school librarian, complete with rocking chair and hand puppets for story time. Her final years of teaching at St. Marguerite D’Youville in Hamilton were particularly special to her, teaching Junior Kindergarten with creativity, patience and enthusiasm. In her 40s, Lynda bought her first guitar and learned to play and sing for an enthusiastic and forgiving audience of 4 year old’s. Following her retirement, Lynda returned to St. Marguerite year after year to celebrate the graduation of each class that she had taught in JK. She was a model of the joy of learning to both her students and her colleagues. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Regina Mundi Parish at 675 Mohawk Road West, Hamilton on Friday, December 30 at 1:00pm. Following the mass, there will be a Celebration of Life from 2:00-4:00 pm in the Parish Hall.
