He will me missed by his extended family Neil MacKay and Larry Glaser as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, dog friends and their parents, His fur baby Curley the cat will miss him dearly. Leo had the gift of gab. He could strike up a conversation with a stranger and by the end you would have become an instant friend. He worked many jobs over the years, reading meters, selling ice cream, cutting lawns, working for family friends selling candy floss and working at the funeral home. Leo loved his properties and gardens and worked tirelessly on keeping them immaculate. Leo spoke to everyone no matter their social status, he would help anyone in need if he could. Leo loved his family and missed the love of his life Joan after she passed away in 2019 and he was ready to be reunited with her. They are together again dancing up a storm after being apart for 3 years. Leo was a great storyteller, you almost needed hip waders to avoid stepping in his ball poop. Sometimes you had to think through his stories to tell if they were real or not. No matter what he always had time to spin the tale or have a real conversation. As per Leo’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Leo’s Life will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Branch #79 of the Royal Canadian Legion, 200 West Street, Simcoe from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. SERENITY BURIAL & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 361 Main Street, Port Dover (226) 290-9093, have been entrusted with the arrangements. A special thanks to his daughter Catherine and sister Doreen for staying by his side until the end, nurses on the 3rd floor at the Norfolk General Hospital, to Peter for all you did for Mom and Dad over the past years.
