Holmes – Larry (Pooster) John at the age of 81, passed away peacefully at Hamilton General Hospital on Sunday, February 14th, 2021 after cardiac surgery. Larry was a lifelong resident of Walsh. He leaves behind his wife Jean, of 60 years, his children Scott (Jenn), Bob (Kyna) and Jen (Eric) Long. Loved Papa of Kyle (Danyelle), Paige (Josh), Corissa (Matt), Courtney, Noah and Macy. Great Papa to Mason, Kouper, Kashton, Emily and Kelsey. Also survived by his siblings Scoot (Theresa), Mary (John) Argo, Barb Binder, Bud (Pat), Jim (Olive) and brother-in-law Doug (Evelyn) Gundry. Larry also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents James and Mary Ann (Gran) Holmes, his in-laws Harry and Eva Gundry, his brothers-in-law Jack Gundry and Laurie Binder and his sister-in-law Ruth Gundry. Pooster will be greatly missed by his MacKenzie Lake cronies, his hunting gang, and his lifelong buddies from Walsh. Larry was an avid turkey hunter and loved the comradery of the deer and moose hunts. Larry worked for the British Leaf Tobacco Company travelling to the southern U.S., U.K and Africa. In his later years he worked as an insurance agent. Following Larry’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a family interment will follow in the spring.
