TENNANT: (John) Roy Sr. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Roy Tennant on Wednesday, April 29th, 2020 at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe in his 89th year. Roy was born in Chisolm Township, Powassan, Ontario to George and Margaret Tennant. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Yvonne May (Knight). Roy’s pride and joy was his family. Father of John (Dianne), Robert and Bruce (Rose Ann). Grandfather of Steven (Ashley), Michael (Nicole), William, Lana and great grandfather of Grayson, Emery, Harper, Connor and Liam. Brother to Lloyd and sister Doris He will be remembered by many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews. Roy was a longstanding member for 30+ years of the International Police Association, Masonic Lodge #7 and Royal Arch. He was a master of the 5 string banjo and played in many blue grass bands. He extended his love and talent of music to his family. After 35 years of working at Stelco he retired as Superintendent of Plant Protection & Fire and enjoyed another 28 years of retirement. Roy’s wishes were to have a private family service plus, a celebration of life at the family cottage.
