FAULKNER: EVERETT (NEWFIE)- Peacefully passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe, on Wednesday February 9, 2022, in his 73rd year, with his wife (Jenn) and sons (Christopher and Matthew) by his bedside. Everett was fondly known to all who knew him as Newfie. He was a member of the Dairy Bar coffee club from the day he arrived in Port Dover from Newfoundland. After retiring from fencing for over 45 years, he was a daily visitor at the Port Dover pier, where he immediately became a friend for life to all he met and chatted with. His fishing pole was always at the ready. Everett is survived by his wife Jennifer, of 40 years, his 2 sons Christopher (Nicole) and Matthew (Shondra), family members Linda Wright England, Anne (Jim) Wallace, Simcoe, Rob (Margaret) Mitchell England, Norma Mitchell, Nova Scotia, Ian (Niki) Mitchell, Port Dover. Nieces and Nephews Alan, Vicky and Phil, Kimberly and Cam, Amanda and Kevin, Emma and Rob, Louise and Tony, Brittany and Hope, Jadian. As well as several great nephews and nieces. Everyone was reminded often that family meant everything to Everett, becoming a Dad meant the world to him, but when he became Papa Newf his world was complete, he was the proudest Papa to Isabella, Jaxon, Gabriel, Brady and Madeline. Everett is predeceased by his parents-in-law Rob (2008) and Ella (1995) Mitchell, his brother-in-law Alan Wright (2021) and his best friend Ron Butler (2020). At Everett’s request there will be no visitation. Internment of ashes will take place at the Port Dover Cemetery on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. All will be welcome to attend (COVID rules to be followed).
