GLASS, Douglas Lloyd passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Stedman Community Hospice, Brantford on Thursday, January 5, 2023 in his 77th year. Doug was the beloved husband of Barbara Glass (nee Prater, Gowman). Doug was a loving father to Don Glass (Deb) and Kim Ann Laush (Chris), and stepfather to Jennifer Lonzer (Deb), Chris Prater (Jessica Gasporatto) and Joel Prater (Stacy). He was grandfather to Samantha and Matthew Glass; Logan and Laiklyn Laush; Avery and Noah Lonzer; Nathalie, William, Claire and Finley Gasparotto; and Violet Prater. Doug will be greatly missed by his brothers, Reg Glass (Carole) and Ken Glass (Joanne) and Barb’s siblings Ross Gowman (Tracy), Kurt Gowman (Donna), Lynn Gysbers (Martin) and Chris Gowman (Barbara). Cremation has taken place. SERENITY BURIAL & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 361 Main Street, Port Dover (226) 290-9093 have been entrusted with the arrangements. Even as he battled multiple myeloma, Doug continued to tinker in the machine shop, welding and building tractors and custom all-terrain vehicles. Doug was born in Brantford and attended Pauline Johnson and North Park Collegiate. He completed his tool-and-die apprenticeship at Mohawk College. Doug was Master of Onondaga Lodge #519 in 1977. He lived in Brantford, Harrisburg and Hillsdale before settling in Vanessa in 2013. Interment will be at Salt Springs Church Cemetery this spring.
