Obituary for Carolyn Field

FIELD: Carolyn -Left this earth on Friday, November 6, 2020 at home in the arms of her family. She was surrounded by flowers, and the beautiful fall colours of the trees and fields. She was treasured mother to Donna (Keith) Hartnell, Lynda (Al) Newhouse, Sara Galimberti, Joe (Jennifer) Field. She was mutually supported and loved by Gloria LeComte, Tom Field and Jennifer (Jeff) Messman. She was Baba to grandchildren Laura (Nick) Hartnell, Megan (Yvan) Hartnell, Lukas (Celine) Newhouse, Natalie (Alex) Newhouse, Amanda Galimberti, Kenzie and Blake Field. Sister of Cheryl (Ron) Martin and Sara (Mike) Cudbertson, predeceased by sister Gwen Wingfield and parents Tom and Leila Davies. Aunt to many nieces and nephews who all have special stories of their time spent at the family farm. Carolyn loved to help others and would treat you as her own. Once a nurse always a nurse, she would keep doctors on their toes and provide informal care to others long after her years working at the Norfolk General Hospital. SERENITY BURIAL & CREMATION SERVICES INC. 361 Main Street, Port Dover N0A 1N0, (226) 290-9093 have been entrusted with the arrangements. In keeping with Carolyn’s wishes donations can be made in her memory to Ronald McDonald House, 1510 Main St W, Hamilton, ON L8S 1E3, Lansdowne Children’s Centre (Mr. Tutt Fund), 39 Mt Pleasant St, Brantford, ON N3T 1S7 or a charity of your choice. More importantly take her good deeds and pay them forward. Help someone in her name. Hold a baby for a young tired mother, see the elderly person needing a meal or drive, knit mitts and socks for cold hands and feet, feed a farmer who is working day and night to feed a community, pick up after yourself, support a thrift store, go camping, forgive yourself, forgive others. We trust she was met with a ‘landslide of love’ in heaven. Where she found a cool breeze, a porch swing, a lap dog and the joy of being free at long last. Cremation has taken place, with a private internment at Port Dover Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Miller and palliative care nurse Elana Lloyd for their support and guidance during her last weeks.
